Added plenty of enteries to the thread at Anandtech about the Earthquake. [Edit: Unfortunately, that thread got lost in the archives]
The response has been quite ummm..... stilted? I have met some very good Americans on the internet and some very ignorant, self-serving Americans. I remember the level of support they got for Sept 11 and we people truly sympathized with the victims and their losses. There has been very less of the same reaction from the other side (talking about the people themself) when the cause and distress is ours. I guess the following post on Anandtech summarizes it quite well:
Hey, it's not important! It's not gonna affect america now is it?
They care more if Bin Laden is dead from the earthquake or not. Who bl**dy cares about the mocked-up threat named Bin Laden?
I must however add that some people have been very supportive and encouraging.
Under handed politics are being played. Apparently the Army trucks with aid are just waiting on the outskirts of the affected areas until they get the order from headquarter to enter the affected area and help the people. So much for their proper procedures... And we support our Army and it's cause so much... HAH! They should be openly scorned.
Went to Edhi center today. People are openly donating as much as they can. It just goes to show that the people and the rulers are working under different mentalities. And we call this a democracy...
I guess what we really need is some kind of a revolution to remove the ruler class and start a new leadership from the grass root levels (some words Musharraf is very fond of). The conditions will only improve when the child of a Minister and a labourer go to the same school for education, the same hospital for medicine and treatment and the same swimming pool for ending a tiring day.

Tomorrow, we have a day off. DG finally got his head out of his research papers.
Also got to post chapter 16 of ToD . Go read the fic if you are interested in reading Harry Potter Fan Fiction. Be ready for a lot of fluff, though! :)
